Created with bones of found wood, with a polymer clay face and a heart of Bay, Blackthorn berries, Sage and Rose. Carrying Iceland Moss for protection and perseverance. Blessed on the Sabbat of Samhain…
Size: Approx 30 cm tall
This is a handmade Spirit Guardian, created from found wood for the body structure, with clothing sewn from recycled fabrics, with a polymer clay face, with gently movable arms (wire armature core)
They hold in their body wrappings, various herbs and resins chosen for their magickal properties. Hair is created from wild brush-able mohair. She is a ‘folk’ type doll - as she is handmade she can have slightly wonky imperfect stitching or un-hemmed dresses - I consider this part of their charm and magick - the imperfect to me, is perfect.
All dolls have a cord on the back so can be hung on a wall or can stand in a vase or lean against a wall/on a shelf - they cannot stand on their own.
These creatures are rarely planned, instead their characters slowly emerge throughout the creative journey - often the herbs enclosed within them give a glimpse of what their character will become, other times they turn out very differently to the original (vague) plan. That unknown is part of the joy of creation.
I create them with much love and intent. They are blessed under a full moon before they begin their journey to their new caretakers.
